Tyrese Gibson Responds to Dwayne Johnson's 'Fast 8' Instagram Rant: 'He's My Brother'

Tyrese Gibson Responds to Dwayne Johnson's 'Fast 8' Instagram Rant: 'He's My Brother'

Tyrese Gibson wants the world to know that he and Dwayne Johnson are still as close as brothers.
After The Rock came out swinging in a fiery Instagram rant on Monday, targeting his "male co-stars" from Fast 8, the rumor mill went wild with fans speculating as to who the action icon was referring to.
Gibson took to Instagram on Tuesday where he posted a video of Johnson singing to Gibson's daughter, Shayla, along with a lengthy caption addressing the actor's aggressive comments, and explaining why he's not the unnamed co-star mentioned in the rant.
"Why are you guys so impressionable? A man wouldn't be singing from his heart and soul to another mans little angel if he had a problem with her dad," Gibson wrote in the post, which he deleted shortly after posting.
In his contentious rant, Johnson praised his "always amazing" female co-stars before turning his sights on the franchise's male leads.
"My male co-stars however are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don't," the 44-year-old former pro wrestler wrote. "The ones that don't are too chicken s**t to do anything about it anyway. Candy a**es."
While it seems like Gibson wanted to diffuse speculation, it was clear that he didn't appreciate the vague way Johnson addressed his issues with some of his fellow actors.
"Does any of us know why bro decided to jump out there with his post? No...... Would one assume that IF he's going to jump out there and generalize and say 'Male Co-Stars' he would be more clear and call out names??? Of course he should of," the 37-year-old actor wrote. "Let me calm you guys all the way down........ I don't know WHO he has a problem [with] and I don't have any details of WHAT those problems are - as a matter of fact if I DID know I would tell you s**t!!!"

Gibson also appeared to have a problem with Johnson taking away from what he feels the franchise and the cast is really about: friendship and family.
"I'm personally not doing this for anyone but my brother Paul Walker," Gibson shared. "This franchise is not about and has #Never been about anyone of us individually it's about the #FASTFAMILY - the TRIBE."
However, after laying out his problems with the way Johnson chose to air out his business, Gibson had nothing but praise, writing, "DJ happens to be one of the most humble, down to earth and professional people I've ever worked with and more importantly he's my brother we have NEVER had a problem and will never have a problem."
